Most villagers will have received, through your letterbox, information on the 2013 Scarecrow Festival.
The organising committee are keen to hear from you if you are intending entering an exhibit in this year�s festival, so the festival map can be prepared, with all exhibits indicated on it. It�s important to fill in your slip and return it to your nearest organiser as soon as possible. There are several people, scattered around the village, whose letterbox you can drop your slips through.
This year the theme is �Children�s Books and Children�s TV�. This gives a wide range of material for the more inventive amongst our contributors.
One of the best aspects of the festival is the extensive exhibits throughout the village, which gives visitors the opportunity to savour Higham and all its charm.
During the last few years we�ve had differing weather conditions, but folk have still turned out in great numbers to see a festival that has grown in size. Many of those that attend the festival comment on how lucky we are to live in such a wonderful place. The layout of the village lends itself to people easily finding their way round, with new exhibits and excitement at every turn.
As usual, the village hall will be serving food and refreshment, and there will be the added bonus of a traditional funfair on the village recreation ground.
