WORLD WAR ONE CENTENARY COMMEMORATION
ST JOHN'S CHURCH. HIGHAM
10:30am SUNDAY NOVEMBER 11th, 2018.
Remembrance Sunday this year will have a particular poignancy as it marks the centenary of the end of World War One. Nine men from our village community gave their lives in this conflict, who we will especially remember in our service.
We have received a 'There but not there' silhouette donated by the family of Harry Wild, and wonder if relatives of the other 8 would be interested in donating a similar figure in their memory for our Centenary Remembrance Day. These silhouette will be positioned in the pews to remind us that although they are not physically with us, their memories live on as we remember their sacrifice. They can be purchased on line at the There but not there shop at a cost of £42:00 for each pew figure, an additional £10 for a name block. If you are interested in donating or would like to find out more, please ring me at the Vicarage : 01282 617316.
Thank you for your interest:
